This mornings trip took myself and my Dad to Saltburn by the sea. Saltburn is a quant little seaside town on the East Coast of North Yorkshire. It is most famous for its long pier which has won awards.
It was a great experience watching the sun rise on the beach. It proved to be a popular spot and I saw 3-4 other photographers that morning. It proved quite tricky getting the shots I wanted without someone photobombing the scene.
Here are a few shots I took.
The first shot I am posting captured a jogger running along the beach. She disturbed the seagulls on the beachfront which added some great dynamics to the shot. The sun was golden and was bouncing off the sand and seawater.
The next shot I am posting I took on a long exposure using my 10 stop ND filter. This gave for a really calm scene.
The next shot I tried to mute the sun by the edge of the pier hut. This took away some of the harshness in the light and created some great shadows.
The next shot is very similar to the pier sunrise but I wanted a closer view of the shadows and light.
